BLOCKBUSTER® PROMOTES NOTHING

Blockbuster Encourages Members to Buy Blank Tapes in Honor of 'Seinfeld's' Last Episode

DALLAS, May 4, 1998 --In observance of the final episode of "Seinfeld," Blockbuster is saying "stay home and watch TV" Ö for one night only, of course. The video rental chain is making it easy for fans to remember Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer's last visit to the coffee shop by encouraging fans to purchase blank video tapes at their local Blockbuster store.

"This is Kramer's last entrance, Elaine's last dance, George's last new job and Jerry's last chance for an honestly gotten marble rye," says Dean Wilson, Blockbuster senior vice president, general merchandise manager. "We know people will be glued to their television sets, so we wanted to remind our members who want to relive this landmark episode that Blockbuster always has a selection of high-quality blank video cassettes for sale."

After a highly successful nine-year run, the show that was often billed as the "show about nothing" will air its final episode Thursday, May 14, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

"Of course, while Blockbuster is sad to see the end of such a creative and entertaining show, 'Seinfeld's' exit from prime time opens up another night of the week for renting movies," says Wilson. "And fans of the show can still see the cast the next time they visit Blockbuster because the co-stars of 'Seinfeld' have been in a number of popular movies that are currently available on video."

Videos featuring the stars of "Seinfeld" include:
